When trying to buy a best anniversary gift for a wife, most males spend the the greater part of their time and money obtaining the material gift and very little, if any, on the anniversary card. Some men even make the severe mistake of not having a greeting card at all. What husbands don't know is that the anniversary card is even more important than the gift.
This idea is very surprising to most men, partly due to the fact our brains are wired differently than women, and partly because of the frustrating commercial advertising that shows jewels and diamond necklaces as the ideal loving gifts for women (although most of those ads and firms are created and owned by men). There is definitely some fact to those ads. Most women of all ages do like diamonds and jewelry, but those are more suitable for birthdays and Christmas. For romantic holidays, particularly an anniversary, what moves women most when receiving a gift is actually the sentimentality and consideration that was put into the card. Without knowing to the average married man, when his wife is getting her anniversary gift she is actually unconsciously using the card as a way of measuring to determine how much he still understands her, or at the very least, how much attempt he is willing to put in to show it. A simple card with common words won't do much to recharge her love meter for the next year.
